How Law Firms Appear
“Best,” “Top-rated,” and “Top” describe the order of our listings: law firms that pay for placement, including Verified firms, appear first. On our directory pages, other firms are ordered by their reviews. See How Listings Are Ordered.
Law firms labeled as “Verified” participate in Elite Litigators’ Verified Program, which is an attorney advertising program and includes compensation for advertising or enhanced placement. See our Verified Program Disclosure.
Elite Litigators displays a Verified badge next to these law firms. Badges are not displayed for law firms that are not Verified.
Inclusion, labeling, placement, or participation in any Elite Litigators program does not constitute and does not imply an endorsement, recommendation, guarantee of results, or that the quality of legal services provided by any law firm is greater than that of other lawyers or law firms.
Displayed numerical scores are proprietary ratings calculated by Elite Litigators based on aggregate consumer feedback, including publicly available reviews, client reviews submitted to our platform, professional milestones such as experience and case results, and qualitative factors evaluated under our proprietary methodology. Ratings do not guarantee a specific outcome for your case, nor do they imply that a firm’s services are superior to those of others with different ratings or law firms not rated.
Elite Litigators’ ratings are calculated on a state specific basis, meaning a law firm’s score may differ from state to state. With the exception of Southern California and Upstate New York, which are treated as separate rating jurisdictions, ratings are calculated at the state level and are comparative to and influenced by other law firms evaluated within that same jurisdiction. Ratings are not calculated at the city or metropolitan level, and firms operating in multiple cities within a state are evaluated using data aggregated at the state level.
Elite Litigators assigns ratings only to law firms participating in its Verified Program. Law firms that are not verified may appear on the platform but are not rated.
Reviews and ratings are two distinct measures on this platform. Reviews are an automated average of client feedback and third-party review data, shown for all listed law firms whether or not they participate in advertising. Ratings are the numerical scores described above; they are shown only on certain pages and only for law firms participating in Elite Litigators’ Verified Program.

References on this website to ‘No Win, No Fee,’ ‘Don’t Pay Unless You Win,’ or similar terms are intended as general explanations of contingency fee arrangements. The specific terms offered by any individual law firm may differ. Although many contingency fee agreements provide that no attorney’s fees are owed unless compensation is recovered, some agreements may require clients to pay certain litigation expenses or case costs even if no recovery is obtained. Attorney’s fees, litigation costs, and client responsibilities are governed by the written agreement between you and the law firm you choose to hire. Each law firm independently determines its own fee structure and representation terms. You should carefully review the law firm’s engagement agreement and discuss any questions directly with the attorney before hiring them.

The results achieved in any particular case depend on the unique facts, circumstances, evidence, applicable law, and numerous other factors. Every legal matter is different, and no case outcome is guaranteed. Prior results do not guarantee or predict a similar outcome, and you should not expect to obtain the same results in your own case. Any recovery you may receive will depend on the specific facts and circumstances of your case and the law firm you choose to represent you.

Frequently Asked Questions About Uber Accidents in Columbus
What should I do if I'm involved in an Uber accident in Columbus?
Firstly, ensure everyone's safety and seek medical attention as needed. Contact the police to report the accident. Document the incident as much as possible, including the driver's information, vehicle details, and any witness accounts. Photograph the scene and the damages if you can. Report the accident to Uber through their app. Lastly, consult with an Uber accident lawyer in Columbus who specializes in rideshare accidents.
Who can be held liable in an Uber accident?
Liability in an Uber accident can fall on various parties including the Uber driver, another motorist, or potentially Uber itself. Determining liability in rideshare cases can be complex due to the involvement of commercial insurance policies and the driver's status at the time of the accident.
How can a lawyer help me if I've been involved in an Uber accident?
A lawyer can guide you through the process of filing a claim in an Uber accident. They can help you understand your rights, gather evidence, establish liability, negotiate with insurance companies on your behalf, and represent you in court if necessary.
What types of compensation can I receive from an Uber accident?
Compensation from an Uber accident can include medical expenses, lost wages, pain and suffering, and property damage. In some cases, punitive damages may be awarded if the defendant's conduct was particularly reckless or malicious.
How long do I have to file a claim after an Uber accident?
The timeframe to file a claim, known as the statute of limitations, varies by jurisdiction. In some states, it may be as short as one year or as long as three years from the date of the accident. It's crucial to consult with a lawyer as soon as possible to ensure you don't miss any deadlines.
How does Uber's insurance work in the event of an accident?
Uber provides insurance coverage for its drivers, but the coverage depends on the driver's status at the time of the accident. When the Uber app is off, the driver's personal insurance applies. When the app is on and the driver is waiting for a ride request, Uber provides limited liability coverage. When the driver is en route to pick up a passenger or during a trip, a $1 million policy applies.
Should I accept the insurance company's initial offer after an Uber accident?
It's generally not advisable to accept the initial offer from an insurance company without first consulting with a lawyer. These initial offers often undervalue the full extent of your damages. A lawyer can assess the offer, negotiate with the insurance company, and help you seek the full compensation you deserve.
What if the Uber driver was off-duty at the time of the accident?
If the Uber driver was off-duty (i.e., the Uber app was not turned on) at the time of the accident, their personal car insurance would typically be responsible for covering damages. However, determining insurance coverage in such situations can be complex and may require the help of an experienced lawyer.
What if I was a pedestrian hit by an Uber driver?
If you were a pedestrian hit by an Uber driver, you have the same rights to pursue compensation for your injuries. The process for establishing liability and seeking compensation is similar to that for passengers, but your lawyer will tailor their approach to the specifics of your case.
How much does an Uber accident lawyer in Columbus cost?
Most Uber accident lawyers in Columbus work on a contingency fee basis, meaning they only get paid if they secure compensation for you. Their fee is usually a percentage of the compensation awarded. This allows victims to obtain legal representation without any upfront cost.
What is Uber's policy when a minor is involved in an accident?
Uber's policy prohibits unaccompanied minors from using their service. However, if a minor is involved in an accident while riding with Uber, the minor or their parents/guardians may still have a claim for damages. As with any Uber accident, it's best to consult with an attorney to understand your rights and options.
What does the Verified badge mean?
Verified means a law firm participates in Elite Litigators' Verified Program, a paid advertising program. Verified law firms are listed ahead of non-Verified law firms in search results. Verified status is not a recommendation, an endorsement, or an evaluation of a firm's abilities by Elite Litigators. Learn more about the Verified Program.
