On August 19, 2024 myself and my 17 year old daughter were on our way home from the movies when a large RV slammed into the back of us at a red light, pushing my car into the back of a UPS freight truck. Luckily we made it out safely with just injuries. Originally I had zero intentions on hiring any attorneys, I just wanted to get my car taken care of and move forward. However, after being BS’d by Progressive I made the decision to hire an attorney that I had known for years. Maybe about a week after hiring him I felt like not enough was being done so I reached out to Slocumb and was assured that they could handle the situation for me in ways that my attorney couldn’t. True enough, they made all the doctors appointments for me which took a load off for sure. The problem came when it was time to negotiate settlement and I felt like due to my injuries and me still being in a LOT of pain, the settlement wasn’t fair and that we should go to court. My attorney felt differently, he said that Progressive wasn’t gonna offer me more than the $30K that they had already offered and going to court would be worse because it was Shelby county and he didn’t think we would stand a chance in that county. Basically deterring me from wanting to go further because he didn’t want to work harder. His discouragement eventually worked and I settled. My daughter received $5K and I received $14K, but that’s also not the biggest problem. 3 months later I learned that the C1 & C2 at the top of my spine was damaged and pinching down on a nerve and that damage was caused by the accident. Now I’m having to have a surgery due to this after I’ve already settled for an amount that won’t help me at all through my downtime nor pay for this operation. Slocumb Law sent me to several “doctors“ who did MRI’s but how did they not see this damage that my THREE (yes I got multiple opinions because this is serious) spine surgeons have pointed out so far. So I don’t know if l should say don’t hire Slocumb Law Firm or don’t hire Lowell Moore. But since Slocumb hired him, I should say don’t trust neither.

Unprofessional

I was very fortunate to have Stacy Hansen as my attorney. She is able to be reached, seen in person, etc. Other law firms did not extend that same courtesy or even care to try. Rest assured, if Mrs. Hansen is on your side–every other attorney in town is on your side as well. Fortunately, I got a favorable result with my case despite initially hiring a different law firm that did not believe in me the way Stacy and the Mike Slocumb law firm later demonstrated. Very trustworthy. 10/10 recommended.
