Do NOT hire Horton and Mendez injury attorneys. If Delvin Horton doesn’t care about a 2 year old, he definitely won’t care about you!

In 2022 my daughter who was 2 was in an accident a broke her back. We hired Devlin Horton and it was the biggest mistake we ever made! We fired Devlin the end of 2024 and he has done more work in effort to receive money from the case after being fired then he ever did on the actual case.

Highlights of Devlins work on our case:

-2 years into the case he still didn’t know my daughters actual name. Continued to put the wrong name on case files.

-Failed to let us know that opposing counsel asked for a settlement mediation BEFORE we filed suit against them. Delvin never told us this meaning his costs went from 33% to 38% because we filed suit against them. Devlin is slimy!!

-After numerous conversations about having a portion of the lawsuit set aside for my wife and I personal expenses we incurred from the accident, Devlin took it upon himself to not include any damages for my wife and I meaning we where able to receive ZERO dollars after coming out of pocket thousands. We didn’t find out about this until 2 years after filing suit! Again Devlin is slimy!!!

-Devlin failed to notify us that he had scheduled mediation until the DAY BEFORE! The evening before mediation Devlin called us to confirm that we would be there, this shocked us because we never knew mediation had been scheduled. We obviously told him we were not prepared for mediation. Rather than being honest with the court as to why mediation had to be rescheduled he lied and told them we were the problem amd at fault, taking no accountability for his incompetence!

-Filed for an extension of trial without ever notifying us that trial had been set. On the court documents he marked that we were aware of the extension and agreed with it. THIS WAS A LIE! We never knew trial was ever scheduled!

Devlin comtinuously lied to us about progress in the case, lied to opposing counsel, falsified documents, tried to tell us to keep doctor appointments a secret from opposing counsel due to results, and honestly neglected our case because he was busy working on a more lucrative case that he has since bragged about winning. IF HE WILL NEGLECT A 2 YEAR OLD, HE WILL NEGLECT YOU!!!!

We have documented everything and grievances have been filed with the State Bar.
