I had a terrible experience with Frank Lombardi, even though I was referred to him through friends of his. My privilege to drive in RI was suspended due to a refusal on a field sobriety breath test. As I had a license in MA it was suspended there as well due to reciprocity. Frank told me that if RI would allow me to drive with an Interlock breath test device on my car, that my license in MA would be reinstated in 60 days. Frank was well aware that my job required me to be able to drive. I informed my employer of the situation and they put me on desk duty pending my license being reinstated in 60 days. The court allowed me to have the device installed in my vehicle and I submitted the installation certificate to Frank at my second appearance at court, which he filed. Two weeks later I appeared again, and Frank stood right next to me during my plea which the judge read to us and made no mention of the breath device installation allowing me to be able to drive in RI. Minutes later he handed me the court order and told me that he would start working on getting my license reinstated again which would be 60 days later. Had he paid attention to the plea or reviewed the court order which didn’t carry the operation of a vehicle with the breath device the problems which ensued could have been addressed right then and there. Two months later I met him at the DMV for an adjudication hearing and we were told that I would not be able to drive in MA. I had the court order in hand and once again he did not review it. He said he would work on it and he went to the airport for a vacation to Florida that same evening. As I was concerned about the results I was getting, I returned to the DMV adjudication office the next week with the court order to which the adjudication officer showed me that the court order didn’t carry the operation of a vehicle with the breath device. He stated “your lawyer screwed up”. I called and texted Frank numerous times with no reply as I’m sure he didn’t want his vacation interrupted. I had to call my friend that referred me to call him in order for Frank to pay any attention to me. I had to take a photo of the court order and text it to him for him to understand the problems with my case. He didn’t reply but merely scheduled another court hearing to get an amended court order. His paralegal contacted me with the scheduled date. After we got the amended court order he asked me if I was at risk of losing my job. I replied that I was and his reply was “well, that’s your livelihood, just drive anyways, who gets pulled over?” I would have blasted him right then and there but he told me that I needed him for one more hearing in 6 months so I restrained from doing so. I never saw him again as he lied and there was no further court appearances. I’ve since blasted him with some emails calling out his willful indifference and wanton negligence. I lost my job and have and will suffer financially in retirement as a result. I would not be surprised if he chimed in here downplaying his negligence and the damages I have suffered as a result of his negligence. My friend will not be referring anyone to him ever again. I have plenty of documentation to back up my statements here and dare him to say anything.

I went to Mr. Lombardi with a serious issue that was confirmed by documentation by various state and federal agencies. Mr. Lombardi also agreed with their findings. He told me he was going to make a phone call and that should solve the problem. I saw him again weeks later, at an event when he informed me that he hadn’t forgotten me. I waited another couple of weeks and left him a voice mail, to which he did not respond. I eventually left an additional voicemail, stating my disappointment in him, not only as an attorney but, a politician, as well. It is weeks later and still, no response. I won’t be calling again. I would not recommend him.
