With the exception of Southern California and Upstate New York, which are treated as separate rating jurisdictions, ratings are calculated at the state level and are comparative to and influenced by other law firms evaluated within that same jurisdiction. Ratings are not calculated at the city or metropolitan level, and firms operating in multiple cities within a state are evaluated using data aggregated at the state level.
