Litigation
After 3 long years in limbo, I literally had no outcome with my case. This lawfirm really put me in a awful position and cause me to have more stress and anxiety after my accident. In 2019 I was involved in an accident and reached out to a lawfirm in SC where they referred me to Yelverton since they have a practicing NC license. They picked up my case and I had a pleasant experience with one of their paralegal during this time. Unfortunately he had left after a few months and it was assigned to Ashley and other legals on the team. It was fine at first but over time it became a chore to talk to them. I would ask simple questions and they seemed agitated or was too busy. But they assured me that they was on top of things. During this time it was at the height of Covid so it was hard getting files and other treatments which I understand. However it was taking to long to get the resources I needed after my accident. I submitted documents that whenever I asked but a lot times they were not received after I submitted it weeks prior. I address my concerns but again I was dismissed in an underwhelming tone. The shocker was that 2 months before my statue of limitations they told me they would not have time to go to court because they were “busy” with other clients at court and they told me they would send me back to the original and they will take care of me. This was not the case because the original suitor only could practice in SC and could not find a lawfirm in NC to pick it up cause it was close to the limitations. I was devastated. I called Ashley to speak her I was very upset and they just told me they don’t have to talk to me cause they “legally” do not represent me. I was not treated like a human at that point and empathy was out the window after that. My final gambit was to settle out of court with the defendant which I did. However this still came with issues. Two weeks before I filed my claim they were still in talks with the claims adjustors and had been communicating with them after I was released! Apparently the claims did not know and I could bot talk to them until they got a letter from them. So I had to wait several more days to talk to the claims department. It was exhausting. I was able to get the claims but its no where the amount I’m supposed to be entitled to. I do not suggest anyone to deal with them. After the experience of limbo while dealing with my injuries mentally and physically from my accident they caused more problems than solutions. PS I seen from the previous comments from reviews this is not a troll page. It is my business page. You review my initials from my connected pages. B.
This firm is the best!!!!! They helped me and my daughter after we were rear ended by a drunk driver. I would recommend this firm. Thanks for everything.
In my opinion based on my work in the professional field with multiple law firms in the personal injury Arena this is one of the worst law firms I’ve ever dealt with. They took a referral from another law firm in the Charleston area in what should have been a dead giveaway. The law firm that referred me to Yelverton litigators would get a cut of the settlement, which in the medical field is called fee splitting and that’s illegal. Well lawyers run the country in terms of the Senate and Congress so go figure it out. They’re very bad at getting back with you, and the demand letter they sent out was so ridiculous it misstated South Carolina law. After not hearing from the insurance company they decided to terminate my relationship with them because they didn’t get a quick settlement. The funny part was, when I hired another attorney the adjuster indicated they never received the demand letter. So much for a follow-up from Yelverton litigators with the insurance company. Well after they terminated my relationship because they didn’t want to put any extra work in, my attorney within four months of my retaining him got me a better settlement than I anticipated. I will not go into the specifics, but never sign a fee agreement that deals with fee-splitting. If one firm doesn’t think you have a good enough case and they refer you out, the other law firm like the Yelvington litigators is looking for a quick buck. They don’t want to do the work. Interesting how my other attorney who was an out of state attorney was able to effectuate settlement when Yelvington litigators couldn’t do anything. I reviewed the response below, and this is not a fake review. I have the documentation if the law firm wants to contact me. They can’t even get my name correct and that’s my real name. They failed to follow through on a valid case, which I received a settlement from an attorney who did a better job. I left a message today January 7th 2022 for one of their attorneys presumably the owner to call me back to discuss the case. I sincerely doubt they will.
