I do not typically leave reviews, however, I felt compelled to post a review for Juli Merback Burdo and Leah Edelstein at Wapner Newman. I have not worked with attorneys before, so I didn’t know what to expect. All I knew about malpractice attorneys is what I saw on the billboards around I-95 in Philadelphia. Well, these two were nothing like those dubious billboard ads. I wish I could hire Juli and Leah full-time as simply hype-people, let alone retain them as attorneys. I’ve not seen anyone advocate with so much articulation, intelligence, legal knowledge, and genuine emotional connection. They cared about my nerve injury and the effects that it had on my life. I actually broke down and cried during their closing argument because the way Juli articulated our story was so caring, accurate, and heartfelt. I don’t know if attorneys have a fiduciary responsibility to focus on your health vs. the outcome of the case, but it was clear to me that she put my injury and healing above any decisions that we made leading up to my trial. Juli started every call with “How is your son? How is your injury feeling?” and then eventually we’d get around to talking about the legalese of my case. Leah was the associate attorney on my case. Leah displayed remarkable knowledge and empathy. I was scared to go in front of a jury and tell them about how my injury affects me, but Leah made me feel comfortable by simply telling me “they want to hear your side of the story.” She helped me clarify my testimony in the days leading up to the trial so that the jury would understand it, and she also helped me gain the confidence to speak out against the doctor who injured me. Leah worked like a dog, sometimes without meals or breaks, during the trial, to ensure all of our administrative issues were taken care of (apparently there are a lot of these in court). Leah walked me through every step of the process in lay-terms instead of using legal jargon, which helped my wife and me understand what was going on. I could go on and on about both Ms. Burdo and Ms. Edelstein, but suffice it to say that, although I would never want to have to go to trial for anything again, they would be my first call if I ever experienced anything remotely legal-related (let alone if I ever experienced another malpractice issue). One last thing I want to say is that just like how pit-bulls can be both caring nanny-dogs, yet vicious and unrelenting protectors, watching Juli & Leah channel the genuine empathy and care they felt for me into ripping apart the dishonest and misleading testimony of the defense was truly remarkable. As a mother, it was clear that Juli channels her inner “mama bear” when her clients are on the line, and Leah was there alongside her every step of the way. These attorneys are the whole package. Wapner Newman is fortunate to have these two amazing and empowering women as a part of their firm. Thank you for allowing them to represent me.
Horrible service. Called to see if I be able to speak to lawyer & never gif a call back lady was very rude. So sad people get paid good money to treat people ignert. Very dusapointed
Called their offices. i’ll say this. When you’re doing too much, then the customer service goes out the window. What a joke of a law firm. thumbs down
