After years of struggling to support myself, I finally decided to apply for disability. Blair Feldman made it happen. I was overwhelmed by the thought of everything I would have to do; I would have to apply, gather and submit all of my medical records (and there were tons of medical records), and I would most likely have to appeal and state my case before a judge. It felt like too much. When I met Blair, I realized yes, I would have to do all of those things, but she would be there to help me every step of the way. And she was. She helped me request my medical records. As for the ones I had at home, all I had to do was drop off boxes at her office so copies could be made. The records were somewhat organized, but not completely. It didn’t matter, Blair made it work. She is the one who appealed my case (twice) and did most of the talking at my hearing. Finally, we won our case. I received a large amount of back pay, but more importantly I now receive SSDI benefits every month, which helps me meet my most basic needs. Now, life is no longer a struggle. My experience with Blair had given me hope for a sustainable future.
