Extremely Disappointed with This Lawyer
I had a very frustrating experience with this lawyer service. Communication was virtually non-existent; no one returned my calls, and I received no responses to my inquiries. It felt like they didn’t care about my case at all.
Once they received my payment, it was like I disappeared. I found myself constantly following up just to get updates on my situation. It’s incredibly disheartening to feel abandoned after trusting them with my legal matters.
I would not recommend this service to anyone looking for reliable legal support. Save yourself the trouble and seek help elsewhere.
This experience was truly terrible. Let me preface that my family had worked with these offices for various residency/citizenship cases years ago when Sekula Sr. was in charge. Sekula Sr. was polite and we didn’t have a single issue. Our most recent experience was another citizenship process but Sekula Sr. left those cases to his son now. From our first meeting with him, I had a bad feeling. He’s a lawyer but doesn’t present himself in a professional way at all. From his way of sitting to his way to speaking – everything was very casual to him. However, since we had history of things going well with the company, we moved forward. We explained that we wanted him to handle the case and we were ready to pay whatever was needed. He gave us a list of things we needed to take care of from our part to save some costs and things seemed OK up to that point. We dealt with his staff frequently when it came to dropping off documents or calling to schedule things. With the exception of one guy that works there who was polite and professional, the other two people are horrible. Particularly, a woman named Norma. Both my wife and mother-in-law were disrespected by this woman on multiple occasions. She is indeed a nasty person. Then there was a young woman Tracy. We had an appointment with Sekula on one occasion when he showed up AN HOUR late (virtually!) and Tracy raised her voice at my wife for being frustrated that he was late. Apparently it’s OK to make your customers wait that long with absolutely no information from yourself or your staff. No communication whatsoever except “well, you just have to wait”. Imagine a kid roughly 10 years younger than you raising their voice a you? The same day, I heard Tracy and Sekula talking disrespectfully about another client Sekula had just seen before us. His staff also apparently handles nothing. You can call to ask questions but they can’t answer them. So if they can’t help customers with anything at all, literally not even “relay information”, then why have staff to begin with? This isn’t an exaggeration, I have an email from him saying that verbatim. All they do is relay messages and when they want something from you, they are incredibly rude. Now, Sekula’s persona aside, he’s incredibly sloppy for having a law degree. Our case was an application for citizenship for a disabled family member. His forms were rejected and when we read what he filled out, we noticed it was riddled with errors. That’s terrible considering that he should know these things like the back of his hand. Even when replying to emails, he can’t be bothered to check who he’s addressing in his emails. Lastly, and more importantly, he does not listen. When we hired him, we gave him a deposit as he asked. Pretty straight forward. Then, he never asked for money again. However, he started getting bothered whenever we would reach out about the case and he kept bringing up that he is not a “charitable organization”. We wrote back multiple times that we understand that his services aren’t free. We weren’t looking for charity. But how can we pay if he, nor his office, doesn’t request anything at all? No one send us a bill. No one asked for anything. Was he expecting a blank check or something? It’s your business, you are responsible for billing your customers for your work. At the end, his forms were denied and the case lead nowhere. Basically, the only thing he did correctly was request an extension on the case. After, Norma, in his staff treated my wife unfairly in one of our last interactions, he emailed us to discontinue his services. He backed his terrible staff and actually wanted an apology from us. Sekula runs his business terribly and it shows the second you speak to his staff. He sets the standard and he’s decided to set a bad one. His staff doesn’t care because he doesn’t care. It’s unfortunate that the father built a reputable business, which we recommended roughly 10 cases to over the past 20 years, only to be tarnished by the son’s incompetency. Don’t ever work with this company for any reason whatsoever.
