From the very beginning of our conversations it was agreed that a change of venue was top priority, that never happened, in fact when brought up 4 months into the case, the judge and opposing counsel denied ever seeing the request for a change of venue, nor could a “filed copy” be provided to me. As a result we forced to deal with unresponsive courts 160 miles away. After 2 hearings and responses to a half a dozen statements filed by opposing, that violated formating standards and were filled with dozens of hearsay statements, the judge approved the motion to strike which included financial penalties; however Ms. POWELL failed to file follow up documents ensuring I was compensated accordingly. Initially I paid the requested retainer, we had several conversation regarding the need for additional payment on the balances,, in the end 2 more payments were made. Then the final bill she sent me, was enough to make your head spin, the final balance was almost 4 times the amount of the original balance and 8 times the amount that was verbally said at our last face to face meeting. I’m disgusted with not only the way my case was handled but with the billing practices as well.
