David is a very sharp unassuming attorney with a lot of passion who values his clients and cases. He was my second attorney on my family matter, and for many reasons, I wish he were my first choice! Cons: Single shingle attorney. He is exceptionally busy Difficult to get his attention on matters (when I perceive I need it) – not your attorney if you need daily handholding Pros: Always on top of the case – I rest assured he does not miss important dates Very reasonable billing rate Very sharp, understands the intricacies of the law and the bench Many ties to this community, and knows the judges well Wins cases I have recommended David to many friends / coworkers.
I would not recommend David and his practice. I hired him in September. To bring my case over from another state. To then modify visitation. It’s now February and all he accomplished for me was bringing over my case from the other state which mind you I could have done myself as I knew how and was familiar. My main reason for hiring David was for if my ex made it difficult to change visitation schedule. He said he would call my ex and never did. I asked several times to submit the case so that we could get in front of a judge. Still never happened. They scammed me out of $3000 dollars. I had to push constantly to get any communication. I felt I had to tell them how to do their job. I paid for hours of his assistant Bryan’s time when most that time was Bryan not spelling things correctly or getting case numbers incorrect and addresses and contact info and dates incorrect. He lied to me about a process on bringing the case over then tried to save face in front of David. After that point Bryan was no longer customer service friendly to me at all. Every time I called I felt I was a nuisance and in their way. I constantly had to correct the paperwork for grammar errors and more it was ridiculous. I asked for my itemized billing once a couple months in as I was getting frustrated. I even advised David that I know my case is not a high paying case but I still needed him to work for me and let me know what’s going on. Never did get that itemized billing. Then couple months later frustrated again. Asked for my itemized billing, took them over 2 weeks to get this to me. Why do you think that was, I don’t think they actually tracked their damn time?! Then find out they exhausted my entire $3000 retainer. How? They didn’t do anything. Literally brought my case over. Worked on visitation stipulations that my ex said he would sign. Then my ex changed his mind. Then worked on modification to visitation (which still didn’t even get submitted to courts). $3000 for that. Initially David advised me he wasn’t even gonna charge me the $150 consultation. That’s part of why I hired him. Then on this itemized billing 5 months later I see he did charge me. They also did not follow their own contact. They stated in context they would advise me when retainer is less than $1000 and at that time would request additional funds and they did not. I don’t think they are organized and I don’t think they really care about anyone’s situations. I definitely felt he was more of an advocate to men then woman. So if you are a single mom….DO NOT HAVE HIM REPRESENT YOU. Now I’m out 5 months time and $3000 in savings to only have to do all this myself again as nothing was accomplished. Just ridiculous. I have never had a lawyer but I know this is not how it was suppose to go.
My only contact with its firm was to answer a letter they sent me very helpful very polite.
