On November 8, 2023, my husband, daughter, and I were involved in a car accident, and we made the decision to hire Herrman & Herrman for legal representation. Unfortunately, this turned out to be one of the worst decisions we could have made.
Once we signed the paperwork, communication completely stopped. We never received a single call, email, or text to check on our well-being or provide updates on our case. Over a year went by with no updates, and when we finally received a call, it was from someone who was now handling our case – despite the fact we never signed any paperwork to have our case reassigned.
Attorney Meghan Hennessy was assigned to our case, and things only got worse from there. She told us that our case had been sitting for over a year and that the audit team had reassigned it to her. After discussing the case with the at-fault driver’s insurance adjuster, she suggested that we accept the insurance company’s offer because it was unlikely we’d get any more money in a trial. However, this offer was presented to us without any negotiation or prior effort to advocate on our behalf. I refused to accept it, but after waiting weeks for a response, Meghan finally called with an update: the maximum offer from the at-fault insurance was an additional $500.
After months of poor communication and a lack of action, I finally agreed to sign the itemized breakdown, which was $5,641.35 for myself and $2,187.50 for my daughter. Meghan assured me we would receive our checks within 30 days, but when I asked about my daughter’s check potentially needing to go into a conservator account, she gave me incorrect information. Despite promising to confirm with her boss, I never heard back from her for two months.
As the months passed, I called and emailed constantly, only to be ignored or hung up on. Finally, I got in touch with someone named Sandra, who informed me that it could take up to five months to receive the checks, and another three months for the accounting team to disburse our share.
Desperate for help, I escalated the issue and spoke with Jackie Spears, Meghan’s supervisor. She apologized but didn’t seem to resolve anything. Instead, I was told that I would be assisted with my case, yet the issues persisted. After waiting three years for resolution, I received checks that were incorrect: $3,748.39 for me and $2,173.48 for my daughter— completely wrong amounts.
I contacted Jackie Spears again, and she claimed that their system was down for several days. A large law firm like Herrman & Herrman shouldn’t experience system issues for nearly a week. This seemed like a clear attempt to avoid paying the amount owed to us.
As of April 2, 2025, I have not received the correct checks. Meghan Hennessy continues to avoid my calls, and I feel lied to, disrespected, and completely misrepresented. I’m now taking to social media and leaving reviews to get the attention and resolution we desperately need. If you’re looking for a bodily injury attorney, stay far away from Herrman & Herrman—they will only make your life a nightmare.
If you want someone who will lie to you, avoid your calls, or accept the first poor offer, then Meghan Hennessy is the one to go to. But I am just hoping that my family and I will finally receive our correct check amounts and that this case will be resolved.

Thanks to Will P and staff for the great work and communication and standing by my husband Joseph S. side every step of the way.
