Personal Injury Catastrophic Injuries Litigation
Wanted $15,000 to represent me, his paralegals tried to tell me I wouldn’t qualify for a public defender and insisted I hire them for $7000 upfront and payment plan on remaining $8000. I bonded out on a Monday, and a part of my bond conditions was I needed representation on paper by that Friday. That Thursday I paid cowboy country $7000 and signed a contract with then declaring that I was hiring them to be my lawyer. Luckily I applied for a public defender before I bonded out and he had entered his appearance on Thursday because cowboy country took all the way until Tuesday of the following week to enter their appearance on my case, which was one day before my court date which was Wednesday. By the time cowboy country finally entered their appearance I was in communication with my public defender and he was already given a good deal by the prosecutors office and forwarded it to me for review. I reviewed the offer and thought it wasn’t the worst and that I wanted to accept the offer, I had seen how cowboy country was going to treat me by doing everything last minute and I called them up and voiced my opinion on the matter and they tried to convince me to not accept the plea deal and try to take it to trial instead, but as a part of contract they wanted $11,000 a day for every day a trial hearing took place, hundreds of dollars for hourly rates for motions to suppress, and any meals or travel fees incurred. They wanted me to risk losing more money by taking the case to trial and risking a felony conviction all so that they could put more money into their own pockets all while not being able to gaurantee a win even if I did decide to fight it. After being shown their greed and blatant lack for caring about my well-being I decided to fire them that Wednesday for failing to meet obligations that were made in the contract stating that they would enter their appearance, because them failing to enter their appearance in a timely manner could’ve turned into a bond violation and was upset with how they were handling my case. I told them they were fired and after a total of 1 days of being on paper as my attorney and failing to meet contract obligations of entering appearance they decided that charging me $1500 for their hard work was what they were worth. This law firm is just money hungry they don’t care about justice, you’re better off hiring someone located more west.
