Larry Disparti is the founder of Disparti Law Group, a nationally recognized personal injury and disability law firm with offices in Illinois and Florida. Jill B. Wagner is a seasoned attorney at Disparti Law Group, where she focuses her practice on workers' compensation law. Raised in a family of healthcare professionals—her father a general surgeon and her mother a nurse—Jill developed an early respect for service-oriented professions. That upbringing fuels her strong commitment to representing injured workers and helping them secure the benefits and protections they deserve.
She earned her undergraduate degree from Indiana University on scholarship and later graduated from John Marshall Law School in 2012. During law school, Jill distinguished herself as a Dean’s List student, earned top rankings in moot court competitions, and served as a teaching assistant in legal writing. She also worked with First Defense Legal Aid, providing critical support to indigent clients following arrest.
Jill’s legal career has been centered around fighting for workers. She has developed extensive experience representing clients before the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission, in circuit courts, and on appeal. Her dedication and results in this field have earned her the “Lead Counsel Verified” designation in workers’ compensation law.
From 2016 through 2022, Jill was selected as a Super Lawyers Rising Star, an honor reserved for the top 2.5% of attorneys in Illinois under 40. She also served on the Board of Directors for the Workers’ Compensation Lawyers Association between 2019 and 2021. In addition, she remains an active member of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association and the Chicago Bar Association’s Tort Committee.
At Disparti Law Group, Jill has secured major victories for her clients, including a settlement of over $375,000 for a teacher who required multiple surgeries due to a work injury. She is also a frequent contributor to legal education, including speaking on the evolving legal implications of COVID-19 and workers' rights. Jamaal Buchanan

Jamaal Buchanan
Jamaal R. Buchanan is an accomplished Associate Attorney at Disparti Law Group, known for his extensive litigation background and dedication to justice. A former prosecutor with the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, Jamaal successfully handled over 100 bench trials and several jury trials. He also served as a Special Prosecutor for the Community Justice Center and was a member of the Financial Crimes Task Force, where he focused on complex, high-stakes matters involving community and economic justice.
Prior to joining Disparti Law Group, Jamaal developed a well-rounded civil litigation practice. He has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in personal injury, wrongful death, commercial liability, transportation, and premises liability cases. His previous clients include major companies such as FedEx and Mariano’s, giving him a unique perspective on both sides of litigation. Earlier in his legal career, he also worked on professional ethics investigations for the California State Bar and supported litigation efforts at a Los Angeles law firm founded by the legendary Johnnie Cochran.
Jamaal holds a Juris Doctor from Vermont Law School and earned his undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice and African American Studies from Bradley University. During law school, he externed for both the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and the Circuit Court of Cook County, gaining insight into both federal and state judicial systems.
Outside the courtroom, Jamaal is deeply committed to community engagement. He has served on several nonprofit boards and mentored students through mock trial coaching programs. His service includes work with organizations like Project Syncere, The Yellow Tractor Project, The Erica Hubbard Foundation, and The Joel Hall Dancers & Center. In recognition of his leadership, he was named one of the National Black Lawyers Top 100 in Illinois and has received the Archbishop James P. Lyke African American Male Image Award on two occasions.
